In this post, WWB founder, Laura Frater, talks about what healthy eating looks like as she recovers from anorexia and bulimia.
Note from Laura: Like all of our posts on WWB, I’m keeping this post short and sweet.
This post is all about what healthy eating looks like after anorexia and bulimia.
In recovery from an eating disorder,
this is what healthy eating looks like:
It looks like a life that doesn’t center around food.
It looks like eating whatever my body feels like and needs.
It looks like having bad body image days but not staying in because I’m ashamed of my body.
It looks like having a balanced variation of meals and drinks.
It looks like going out with friends last minute for an unplanned burger.
It looks like eating when I’m hungry.
It looks like eating birthday cake on my goddamn birthday.
It looks like eating a meal and not figuring out where I can throw it back up.
It looks like going to France on vacation with my fiancé and eating the most delicious crepe of my life.
It looks like working out because you want to, not because you want to burn calories.
It looks like getting into a bikini in Mexico and diving into the pool.
It looks like enjoying every part of the buffet at the resort you paid for.
It looks like being with family.
It looks like being with friends.
It looks like saying to yourself, after a long day at work, hey, you, it’s just food. Your body will tell you if you want it.
This post was all about what healthy eating looks like after anorexia and bulimia.
