What happens when you whip together mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, almond, vanilla and cream? You’re about to find out with this super simple mascarpone frosting recipe…
This post is all about mascarpone frosting.
Important Notes
- This recipe makes around 3 cups worth of mascarpone frosting
- For longer term storage, keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freezer. Frosting will remain soft even after refrigerating, but you can always allow for it to come to room temperature before using if previously refrigerated or frozen.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces mascarpone cheese chilled
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream chilled
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Directions
-
Get your mascarpone cheese! With either a hand held electric whisk, or with a standing mixer, mix the cheese at a medium speed. As it mixes, add the almond and vanilla extracts. Then add the powdered sugar. Scrape the sides of the bowl as you go and continue mixing until the mixture is light and fluffy.
-
Turn up the mixer to a high speed. Now add (slowly!) the whipping cream. Add until the mixture becomes light and fluffy. It should take between 1 to 3 minutes.
-
Spread onto your desired baked good — or eat from the bowl! We DO NOT JUDGE!
