Whipped cream frosting is perfect if you’re looking for something a little lighter than buttercream or cream cheese frosting. Ideal for cake decoration (or just straight from the bowl!), this frosting is to. die. for.
This post is all about whipped cream frosting.
Ingredients
- 2 cups heavy cream (really chilled!)
- 1 teaspoon (I like to eyeball it…!) of vanilla essence
- 1 cup powdered sugar
Directions
- Chill your bowl and beaters (you’ll need an electric hand held whisk or an electric standing mixer) in the fridge for about 30 minutes before you start combining the ingredients.
- Once your equipment has chilled, combine and beat the cream until it froths.
- Continue beating but add the powdered sugar and vanilla essence as you do so.
- Beat the mixture until its consistency is thick enough to spread.
- Go ahead and top off your cakes (or whatever food you choose!) and consume immediately.
Want to add something special?
Chocolate:
- Want to add a little chocolate flavoring to this frosting? Add 1/2 cup of cocoa powder to your powdered sugar before you combine all the ingredients.
LEMON
- Feeling fruity? Add 1 teaspoon of lemon extract.
ORANGE
- Throw in 1 teaspoon of orange extract
