This Nutella frosting is to. die. for. I’m serious. You may die from pure joy ingestion after a teeny weeny spoonful of this incredible — tried and tested many times — frosting. In this recipe I combine my *famous* cream cheese frosting recipe with Nutella and a few extra, but super simple, affordable ingredients.

Easy Nutella frosting
So where do we start with Nutella cream cheese frosting? It is literally the most diverse frosting you could make, ya’ll. Throw it on red velvet cookies, sugar cookies, chocolate cookies… make a cookie sandwich! I also love Nutella filling for cake, Nutella cream cheese fruit dip, Nutella cream cheese brownies and, my personal fav, straight out the god damn bowl!
Tips and Tricks
- I strongly recommend using the Nutella brand and not a store brand that tastes like Nutella.
- The same rule of thumb applies to the cream cheese. I always use Philadelphia cream cream for this frosting recipe. There’s something extra fluffy and creamy about it compared to store brands. Make sure you buy the 8oz blocks of Philadelphia cream cheese and not a tub. The tub mixture is always a softer and doesn’t pack the same punch!
- If you’re looking for Nutella cream cheese frosting without powdered sugar or no butter, I’m sorry, but this recipe is not for you *sad face.*
- For the greek yoghurt component of this recipe, I recommend adding less at the beginning, mixing the ingredients together, and adding more if you see fit. Remember, you can always add more of an ingredient, but it’s a lot harder to remove what’s already in the bowl!
NUTELLA CREAM CHEESE FROSTING Ingredients
- 8 ounces of Philadelphia cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, softened (I use Target’s butter)
- 1.5 cups of powdered sugar
- 1 tsp of vanilla essence (optional)
- 2/3 cup of Nutella
- 4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons plain Greek yoghurt
DIRECTIONS
- Combine all the ingredients with an electric whisk! Depending on how soft the frosting becomes, you may want to put it in the fridge for up to 30 minutes. Then, enjoy as you see fit!
