A vision board is a creative way to stay focused on your goals. If you’re wanting to make the best out of 2024, then look no further: here are my five easy tips for creating a vision board to manifest your most fabulous year yet.
This post is all about your Vision Board | 6 Easy Tips For Visualizing Your Future in 2024.
1. Write down your goals by category
Split up your goals by category: family, friends, health, wellness, professional, hobbies… whatever categories work for you, get ’em written up!
Then, under each category, write down between 1 and 5 goals for each one. (The number may vary – again, do what works or you!)
Once you’ve written them up, step away from the goals for at least an hour! Let them marinate. Once you’ve let them sit, go back to them and decide if you want to make any changes.
2. Source visual imagery
The best part of a vision board is finding the vision board photos!
Now that you’ve decided on specific goals, it’s time to find visual representation of those goals. For example, if your fitness goal is to run a marathon in the next 6 months, you’ll want to find an image of someone running or crossing the finishing line of a race.
Okay, but WHERE do I get these images?!
Personally, I love using magazines. They not only provide high quality photographic images, but they sometimes further my vision board ideas / goals.
You can also use: newspapers, postcards, and online images.
Why not take your own photos on your phone and have them printed out? Itt’
3. Get a frame or cork board
When I put a frame around my vision board collage, it helps me limit the number of goals I’m setting myself.
This is a GOOD thing: you don’t want to overdo it and create an unrealistic number of goals for the year.
If you don’t want to purchase a frame, a cork board is an even more affordable option. Plus, you can move your images around more easily with a cork board.
Another option is getting some wrapping paper and using it as the backdrop/frame.
4. Decide on key words
While images are key for creating a vision board template, I suggest writing out key words that relate to your goals.
For example, if you want to travel to London on a vacation next year, couple your image of London with “London”!
The power of language plus imagery is extra compelling for your vision board!!
5. Split up your vision board by month
It can be overwhelming to think about an entire year and how many goals you want to accomplish.
How about splitting up your vision board by month instead?
My mum always reminds me to break up big goals into little chunks or work or smaller goals. That way, you get to experience little wins as you go which feels. so. good.
6. Host a vision board party
One of the best ways to get your vision board fun is to host a vision board party.
Get your friends together, bring a bottle of wine and some cheese and crackers, and get your vision boards wrapped up together.
If your friends are high quality people, they’ll support your goals and they’ll have goals too. You can bounce your goals off each other and, who knows, new ones might appear in the process.
